6O BANDS, 3 STAGES, 3 DAYS, 1 BIG PARTY ON THE BEACH

Looe Music Festival

Looe Music Festival 2012

Where: Looe beach and around town
When: 21st-23rd September
Website: www.looemusic.co.uk for online tickets & line-up

Headline acts will play on the unique beach stage overlooking the sea and 60+ bands will be performing all around Looe, all weekend in the pubs and on the other stages. The line up is still being finalised but our sources say there are some big names coming. Expect contemporary UK bands, 70s rock giants, 2-tone legends, new wave icons, traditional Cornish folk music and a fun, friendly atmosphere.

Last year was a blast with amazing performances on the beach stage from Adrian Edmonson & the Bad Shepherds (doing a swansong tour), The Selecter, Roy Wood, and From The Jam. Meanwhile 60 bands performed all over town on the other stages, covering all musical tastes from hip-hop and rock to 1940s swing and blues. This year, it’s going to be even bigger and better

We think: at £40 for 3 days and discounts for children, it’s a bargain. Once the line up’s announced tickets might go soon so get in early.

SEA LIFE UNDER YOUR FEET!

Boatzer

Boatzer Glass-Bottomed Boat

Where: East Looe Quay opposite Trawlers Restaurant
When: Most days April-Sept, weather permitting
Contact: Call Anthony on 07896 162 292 or 01503 264 507

Spot fish and sea creatures through the glass floor of this wonderful boat as you cruise around Looe Island, exploring caves and meeting seals. Anthony is a friendly skipper who knows the waters well. Of all the sight-seeing trips going out of Looe, this is one of the most fun, especially for the kids. Highly recommended. Anthony’s happy to take you if you turn up at the quay but in high season it can get busy so call ahead to book your place.

We think: Anthony’s always happy to take you if you turn up at the quay but he’s a popular skipper, so in high season call ahead to book your place.

DEFY GRAVITY – IF YOU DARE

Adrenalin Quarry

Adrenalin Quarry

Where: Lower Clicker Rd, Menheniot, Nr Liskeard, PL14 3PJ
When: 10am-6pm, April to October, every day
Contact: 01579 308 204
Website: www.adrenalinquarry.co.uk

Adrenalin Quarry has been throwing people off cliffs in various ways since 2009. It started ambitiously enough with a half kilometre zip wire (UK’s longest) stretched over a 150ft flooded Cornish quarry. Then came freshwater coasteering off the quarry cliffs. Last year, the owners pushed the boundaries again with a truly terrifying yet exhilarating Giant Cliff-Top Swing. You and the family can do all three if you’re up for it...

We think: A genuinely unique experience that’ll leave you buzzing. Be warned, The Giant Swing IS scary. Buy family tickets for a good discount.
